The Big Comcast Remote – EZ to Read

A big Comcast remote is available to subscribers, upon request, instead of the usual one. Sometimes the remotes are just too small, either the buttons are too small and you find yourself pushing two at a time or you have to bring within inches of your face so you can see what the tiny print says. Comcast has a solution — and all you need to do is ask for it.

The Big EZ remote offers larger buttons with easy to read print without sacrificing any of the features you use in the regular smaller remote.

How to Get the Big Comcast Remote

Easy Programming

This large button remote can operate up to two devices, making it ideal to operate your TV and set-top box. It comes preprogrammed to work with the Comcast XFINITY box, but it can also be programmed for the Motorola and Cisco set-top boxes. Look closely at your box to determine which brand you have.

If the remote doesn’t work with your current box then you need to program for one of the other brands.

  1. Press and hold the ‘SETUP’ button until the LED light changes from red to green.
  2. If you have a Motorola Brand Box then Press ‘B’. If your box is a Cisco brand press ‘C’. At this point the LED will brink green twice.
  3. Press the ‘Xfinity’ button to verify that the remote is controlling the cable box.

If you need to reprogram it to work with your XFINITY BOX, press ‘A’

Program to Control Your TV

The Big EZ Remote can be used to control your TV power and volume.

  1. Turn on the TV and set-top box.
  2. Locate the Device Code for your television manufacturer.
  3. Press and hold the ‘SETUP’ button until the status LED light changes from red to green.
  4. Enter the first code for your TV manufacturer. Once the code is entered the LED should flash green twice.
  5. Press the ‘TV POWER’ button on the remote. If the TV turns off, you have successfully programmed your remote.

If the TV does not turn off, or the volume and Mute buttons do not work correctly, repeat steps 3 and 4 using the next code for your TV manufacturer.

No Code for Your TV?

If you can’t find a code for your TV Brand, or the codes don’t work then you can still program your remote.

  1. Turn on the TV and set-top box.
  2. Press and hold the ‘SETUP’ button until the status LED light changes from red to green.
  3. Press the ‘CH+’ button until the TV turns off
  4. Once the TV has shut itself off, press the ‘SETUP’ button to lock in the code.
  5. Press the ‘TV POWER’ button on the remote. If the TV turns off, you have successfully programmed your remote.
