Stylish Jolla Tablet Provides Functionality and Intuitive Design

Consumers that enjoy open-source technology products and applications will quickly embrace the innovative Jolla Tablet. The product, which runs on the independent Sailfish OS, made recent headlines with its successful funding campaign on Indiegogo where it has earned more than $2 million from its many financial supporters. Jolla provides users with powerful functionality based on an intuitive design that is uniquely different for fast multitasking.

Jolla Uses Open Source Sailfish Operating System

Jolla is an avid supporter of the open source community, and with this in mind, designed the Jolla Tablet to run on the independent Sailfish OS. In keeping with its goal to respect the privacy of those that purchase and use its products, Jolla will ardently protect personal data. Sailfish OS was designed without “back doors or third parties that could use and monitor your data. Together with the open source community, Jolla continues to strengthen their privacy capabilities at every opportunity.” (Jolla, 2015)

When using the Jolla Tablet, Sailfish OS will display all open and running apps for quick and efficient viewing while working on several tasks at the same time. You can easily move back and forth between each of the individual apps while navigating Jolla. With multitasking view, you do not have to open each app in order to control it. Jolla comes with a full plate of its own uniquely designed native apps and is also compatible to be run with Android-based apps.

Navigate Jolla Using Natural Hand Movements

Navigating Jolla is intuitive and natural without the need for a keyboard or mouse. Interaction with the tablet is based on using your hands to make fluid gesture-like movements. You will not get lost while moving from section to section and “you don’t have to push tiny buttons or search your way back home — everything is always under your thumb.” (Jolla, 2015)

Jolla was designed to be functional but stylish. With the open source Sailfish OS, the tablet provides users with the best of the basics without including junky features that are not needed. The tablet provides you with room to expand and add more storage if needed. Upgrading is as simple as using a microSD memory card to increase the hardware’s storage capacity.
