At the beginning of the year, Netflix’s content lineup changed. Many movies and TV shows that were formally available via streaming were either removed completely, or became available only on DVD and Blu-ray. Netflix is constantly changing the content that they make available for subscribers. Each month they add new movies and TV Shows streaming on Netflix.

New TV Shows on Netflix

The following is a list of the new TV Shows on Netflix that became available for streaming in January and February.


For viewers that can’t get enough of their favorite serial killing forensics expert, Netflix added seasons 5-8 to the first four seasons. According to Showtime, there are no plans to continue the series after season 8, so now you can stream the entire series in all of its gory glory.

“Murder She Wrote”

Angela Lansbury fans will be glad to know that all 12 seasons of Murder She Wrote are now available for streaming on Netflix.

“Alfred Hitchcock Presents”

Season 1 is finally joining the second and third seasons of this classic Hitchcock series of short films. Each episode features what Hitchcock described as, “Mystery, murder and mayhem.”

“The Lying Game”

Based on the popular novels by Sara Shephard, viewers can continue along with Emma’s search for her twin sister with the addition of Season 2 to Netflix’s streaming lineup.

“Turbo FAST”

Netflix’s partnership with DreamWorks has produced this original animated series for kids, and the first season is now available via streaming. The show features a cast of crazy, colorful stunt vehicles and their adventures in stunt racing.

“Jake and the Never Land Pirates”

Season 2 is now available for this colorful animated series is based on Disney’s popular “Peter Pan” adaptation.

“House of Cards”

Viewers can continue to follow the career of nefarious and underhanded politician Congressman Francis Underwood in this original Netflix drama. Season 2 of this popular show came available for streaming on February 24th.

“Bates Motel”

The first season of A&E’s popular show is now available for streaming on Netflix. Ever wondered how Norman and his mother (“Psycho”) ended up owning a motel and becoming the people that they are? Watch this series and find out!


The second season of TNT’s modern continuation of the original drama is now available. While viewers of the original show have long believed that the epic year of wondering, “Who shot JR?” could never be topped in television, this show aims to shock, scintillate, and ultimately, delightfully, prove us wrong as it follows the exploits of the children of JR, Bobby and rest of the Ewing family.

“Breaking Bad”

The second part of season 5 is the conclusion to anti-hero Walter White’s thrilling journey and descent from high school chemistry teacher to drug lord. Now you can finally watch the entire show, from beginning to end, on Netflix starting on February 24th.

“Burn Notice”

Viewers can finally watch the seventh and final season of their favorite spy turned private investigator, Michael Westen, beginning February 15th.

“The Returned”

The first season of this popular French TV series is now available on Netflix. What would happen if some of your dead loved ones just started coming back from the dead? Not all the dead return to this small town in France, but those that do are seemingly chosen at random, and pick up where they left off with their lives, as though nothing has happened. This show is eerily mesmerizing, even if you don’t speak French.

“The Borgias”

Starring Jeremy Irons, three seasons of the series based on the sinister and powerful Borgia clan from the Middle Ages are now available for streaming.

“Queer As Folk” (American Version)

Based on the popular British series of the same name, the drama portrays the lives of five gay men and a lesbian couple that live in Philadelphia and struggle with wide ranging issues such as love, loss, health care, acceptance, social injustice, addiction, employment and more. Seasons 1 through 5 are now available for streaming on Netflix.

“30 for 30: The Price of Gold”

This episode of the popular ESPN’s 30 for 30 series is now available, and gives viewers a look back at the attack on Nancy Kerrigan at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and the Tonya Harding scandal.

In addition to these new TV Shows on Netflix, over 50 new movies were added to Netflix’s instant streaming lineup in January and February.
