Amazon Considers Opening a Store in New York City

The Wall Street Journal reported that online shopping giant Amazon might open a brick-and-mortar store on 34th Street in New York City. Customers will be able to pick up online orders and exchange items.

It would also make sense that customers would be able to buy some of Amazon’s products there, as well, like an Amazon Kindle, Fire TV or the Amazon Fire Phone.

The article also notes that the venue will also serve as a mini-warehouse, where couriers will be able to get orders to customers that live within the city that very day.

Since companies like Best Buy, Target and Walmart have begun to offer better delivery services and in-store pickup of online orders, Amazon probably had to make a move like this in order to stave off that competition.
