The show follows a group of ordinary folks that struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies. There are also heartfelt moments that will leave viewers teary-eyed with the show’s strong emphasis on character development.
All five seasons of the epic crime drama, Breaking Bad are also available to stream on Netflix. Watching this show is a bit of a guilty, mesmerizing pleasure. While parental guidance is suggested, How I Met Your Mother is frequently enjoyed by teens and parents alike. The show has comic, romantic, and dramatic elements and follows the story of a father who is telling his two children the tale of how he met their mother. Best Shows to Binge Watch With the Girls
Fans of fashion, fantasy and improbable plots will enjoy Drop Dead Diva. The first five seasons of this show are now available to stream on Netflix, and it is hoped that the sixth and final season will become available for streaming by the end of 2014. The story line has elements of both comedy and drama and calls to mind the popular Sex and the City series as well as the Freaky Friday movie. It follows the exploits of the stereotyped superficial fashion model who is recently deceased, and finds a way to return to life. Upon her return, she finds that she is now trapped in the body of a recently deceased, brainy and kind, plus-sized lawyer who works in the same office as the model’s fiance. Over the seasons, the lead character grows as she learns lessons in humility and kindness.
The United States of Tara also originally premiered in 2009 and has a similar “feel” as Drop Dead Diva, in that it is a show that blends elements of comedy and drama with fantasy. The story follows the ups and downs in the life of a young mother who juggles the responsibilities of raising children, while coping with several of her “alters” that are the result of disassociated identity disorder.
